The Hospital

Our household has taken on a new form these last few weeks. It has been a little out of the ordinary around here. First of all, the rule is true, that no likes for mama to be sick! It really doesn't even have to be your mama; just any mama can throw the nest a twig short. Justin's mom had surgery about two weeks ago. She spent a couple of nights in the hospital and then has been recuperating here at the house since then. I have tried to maintain things as if she were taking care of them, but to be honest, running a household of five is a new challenge for me! Thankfully, last week we had dinner brought to us by members of our congregation so I didn't have to cook every meal. However, I have spent most of my time doing laundry, occasionally assisting her where needed, and, of course, keeping Lucy Anne off MiMi's boo-boo's. With everyday she makes improvement and can't wait to have our MiMi back to normal operating mode!

Sunday night Lucy Anne decided to check in to our little hospital with 105 degree temperature. Monday morning we took her into the emergency clinic and she tested positive for strep. Needless to say, that was a long, sleepless night for us. They gave her a Rocefin (sp?) shot and Amoxicillin and life has been much better for her and for us!

Hopefully, our hospital will be vacant soon! I am ever more cognizant of being thankful for our health! Thank you, Jesus!

Poor Lucy Anne! And, poor Mrs. Poe! Sounds like you've been working overtime as mommy and caretaker! I hope you all recover soon. :) We've had our fair share of throat stuff lately and it it SO hard for those little ones! I hope Lucy Anne feels better fast.

Poor little Lucy Anne (and her grandma too)! I am so sorry that she was sick and not doing good. Rocefin shot is what they gave Seth last week during his mystery illness and it did help him perk up faster too -- my mom thinks those shots are the best thing in the world for curing any major sickness!

Here's to NO more hospital visits healthy kiddos all summer long...somehow, with Seth, I doubt that will happen.

Hope everyone is doing better now. We miss you.
