Turkey and a Side of Germs

Let's just say we are thankful for when we're well, this Thanksgiving. As I mentioned before, Ella was sick and had gone to the doctor on Monday. By Tuesday, I noticed Lucy Anne coughing. Just to make sure we were safe for taking our "little germies" to Thanksgiving, I took both girls again to the doctor on Wednesday. Ella wasn't keeping anything down which was due to her antibiotic and gallons of phlegm. Tuesday night she spit up/threw up at least four times . . . everywhere. And I wanted to make sure Lucy Anne didn't have an ear infection. The doctor passed them both to go ahead with our Thanksgiving plans. So, on Thursday, Lucy Anne awakened with fluid pouring from her nose and eyes, coughing/sneezing, etc . . . We almost decided to have Thanksgiving at "New China" but we called around to family for a quick survey to see if anyone would be offended if we brought our sickies with us. We enjoyed a fun-filled day with the Bogg's side of the family which is Justin's mom's side. She has ten other brothers and sisters so there were about 60 people at our Thanksgiving festivities. By the time we left, I was feeling like a horrible mother to allow my sick child play hard out in the Oklahoma wind without a nap. Lucy looked so miserable! Therefore, Friday was spent as a sick day. We spent the day in our pj's watching TV, just laying low. On Saturday, we went to my folks for burgers and to watch the Bedlam game. Poor POKES . . . work on your defense and we'll get 'em next year! Anyway, needless to say, today was another sick day (mainly for me). We're on the mend and thankful for healthy bodies!

This time of year is so awful on our allergies too! In fact, I am taking Seth to the ENT again this week for a checkup and we are discussing getting his adenoids out. Hopefully with that, we will get rid of the constant green yucky nose we seem to have from October to April!

Oh, did you guys enjoy the snow last week? I thought about you while I was in Oklahoma, but thought since it was "blizzard-like conditions" we wouldn't be able to see each other!

Tiffster...
Did Wade tell Justin that Callahan had the same stuff! He was so sick with a nasty nasty cough and yucky nose - I was salining it all the time and trying to suction it out. His cough was horrible and it would make him gag (from all the gunk in there) and then he would throw up his entire feeding from the gagging! UGH! It was not fun...I took him to the Doc twice. No infection they thought, but did have a tight chest and wheezing - so he had to have breathing treatments - sounds like asthma like Carson and Wade! YUCK! Anyways, i completely understand what you are going through. Callahan is just now getting pretty much over his 4 week cough. I felt so sorrry for him too. I feel sorry for Ella too - it's so sad for newborns to have that. I guess it's a bad season for sickness. Anyways, we love you guys and miss you. Talk to you sooN!
